In September
of 2000 The Maine Toolroom was formed when William Morrison bought
the equipment
from the Ark- Les Corporation of Stoughton, MA. Ark-Les had operated
a manufacturing facility in Maine for over twenty years and consolidated
its toolmaking effort at the building in Scarborough where The
Maine Toolroom now resides. The principle business of Ark-Les was in
the electrical terminal field. Die making and mold making were integral
to that effort. Mr. Morrison owned Morrison Machine & Tool Co.,
inc. at the time a custom plastic injection molding company. Again
toolmaking
was a key part of that operation. The Maine Toolroom has managed to
survive the downturn of 2001 - 2005 and is thriving by being versatile
and offering
a high degree of skill and pride in the manufacturing of dies, molds,
and related products.
